The Marathon is this Sunday. Come cheer me on. @NYRR

So my 5 competitions in 5 weeks ends this Sunday with the NYC Marathon. As in my previous eight NYC marathons (2004, 2006-2011, 2013), I’m hoping to see a ton of you out there. I can’t express how much energy a cheering section brings along the way. I know I’ll see many of you in miles 7-9 or so, but I’m hoping I’ll see a few of you in other parts of the race too.

I am bib number 46546. Get the mobile app and track me – http://www.tcsnycmarathon.org/race-day/mobile-app-and-runner-tracking. I am “Orange Wave 3”, which means I start at 10:30pm and will come through North Slope (i.e., near home and CFSBK) around 11:45am or so.

There are a whole bunch of folks you should also cheer on, especially friends from CrossFit South Brooklyn and the Prospect Track Club. Many good friends from Deloitte I’m sure are running too. Some names to watch for are Tim Saintsing (bib 52950) of relaygse, who will running in a Robin Hood shirt; my dear friend from Colby, Stephanie Cain Sherman (69632); Doug Hurley, who I worked with at BearingPoint and is now a partner at E&Y (51736); and, of course, my great friend and neighbor, the very fast (like 3 hour fast) Todd Portnoff (bib 3313 … four digit number = fast!)

My wife and kids will be on the Park Slope (east) side of 4th Ave at Warren St, as usual.

“What time am I shooting for?” Same as every year – “the time it takes to finish.”

I am not sure quite yet what I’ll wear. Somehow I want to represent CFSBK, PPTC, and psms282 with a nod to Relay and few other institutions if I can. I’ll probably do a “teach kids code” thing too like I did last year. I don’t want to look like Ryan Newman at Bristol, but I want to represent. Here’s a photo NYRR captured of me last year right at the start – https://www.facebook.com/NewYorkRoadRunners/photos/t.597016392/10151738995452409/?type=3&theater

I am uncertain if I will do strength cycle Monday morning. 50/50.

I am certain I’m missing people, so comment with their names so we can maximize the cheering power. Who else is running from CFSBK? Eric? Who else? And PPTC will be out in force, our final year running w/o Michael Ring joining us.
